What makes you the best choice for this office?

I am principally centered, getting along with both sides of the aisle. I am fiscally conservative and socially very tolerant. I have extensive education in economics and lengthy experience in building a business from the ground up. I have already cultivated experience and relationships in the Colorado State Capital as the HD34 Representative in the 2018 session.

What can the Legislature do to ease the strain of rising housing prices on Colorado residents?

We can improve our housing defects laws to allow for `starter homes” and condominiums to be built. We should NOT, however, try to control the housing market with excessive price controls, price caps or growth restrictions.

What can be done to ensure the state's transportation system will be able to accommodate continued population growth?

We are hearing the people and in 2018, we put a LOT of extra funding into transportation. I would be in support of continuing that trend and allocating additional funding in 2019 and beyond.

What two issues demand more attention in the upcoming Legislative session than they received in the previous one, and why?

My personal pet issue is to enact “Approval Voting” and educate the public on how it will improve the climate of politics in our state and nation. It's not an issue on people's minds but it is a solution to the negative feelings in our political climate. Secondly, we are ignoring the gross expansion in state government that is outpacing our population growth. We are forgetting to keep our state government lean and efficient.

If elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?

I would like to see Approval Voting become available in at least some elections, hopefully at the state level and most importantly, in primaries. The ripple effects of such a change would be felt for decades and beyond. Colorado would lead a movement to improve our political climate and communication.
