“A Tour of Italy” opened Aug. 12 at the Colorado Gallery of Arts, in the Annex at Arapahoe Community College, 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. The opening reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 15, and the exhibit runs through Sept. 18. It features painting, drawing and photography by ACC students who participated in the 2019 study abroad tour earlier this summer. Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Admission is free.

Littleton Jazz
Foundation

Reminder: Concert by the Hank Troy Quartet and the Queen City Jazz Band at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Town Hall arts Center, 2450 W. Main St., Littleton. Troy has played with the QCJB since 1958 and formed his own group in 1985. Tickets: townhallartscenter.org.

Jodi Picoult

Mark your calendar: Douglas County Libraries will present popular author Jodi Picoult in conversation with author Eleanor Brown (of Highlands Ranch) from 7 to 11 p.m. September 24 at University of Colorado South Denver, 10035 S. Stories on Stage

The new 2019-2020 season flier for Stories on Stage has arrived, starting with “People Behaving Badly” on Sept. 22. Performances are at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays; 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Lakewood

Brad Zimmerman appears at Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Early birds

Roxborough State Park, 4751 E. Roxborough Dr., has sunrise park openings every day in August at 6 a.m. Visitor center hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and until 5 p.m. weekends. Volunteers will begin working on a new Legacy Garden in September, with special commendation to the late naturalists Vickey and Jim Trammell, who helped set the park land aside and shaped the volunteer and educational programs at Roxborough State Park. They also taught at Arapahoe Community College. The next guided bird walk is Aug. 18 and a photography class is listed for Sept. 22. Daily passes cost $8. Performance Now

Longtime theater company Performance Now announced its next season’s programs, to be performed at Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway. Lakewood: “Ring of Fire: Music of Johnny Cash,” Sept. 6-22; followed in 2020 by “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and “Drowsy Chaperone.” Performancenow.org.
