Author coming to talk about two of her books

Author Susan Orlean will appear at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at an event presented by Arapahoe Libraries at the Embassy Suites DTC, 10250 E. Costilla Ave., Centennial. She will talk about her most recent best-seller, “The Library Book,” about the mystery of the huge 1986 fire at the Los Angeles Central Library, as well as “The Orchid Thief.” Her books will be available for purchase and signing. Englewood Arts Presents

Beethoven’s “Clarinet Trio” and Saint-Saens’ “Clarinet Sonata in E-Flat Major” as performed by Jason Shafer, principal clarinetist for the Colorado Symphony, will be on the program at 2 p.m. Nov. 16 at Hampden Hall, in the Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway. Shafer will perform with CSO principal cello Seoyeon Min and pianist Hsiao-Ling. Tickets: $25/$20.

‘Two-Night Stand’

Some members of the Littleton fine Arts Guild will collaborate in a “Two Night Stand” show on Nov. 16-17 at the Depot Art Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave., Littleton. Call for artists

CORE New Art Space at Pasternack’s Art Hub in the 40 West Arts District, 6851 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood, has an open call for its next show, “Red,” on Nov. 15 through Dec. 1. Buntport reprise
