Big cast includes kids in summer musical

Each summer Littleton United Methodist Church produces a musical with lots of Littleton and Highlands Ranch kids involved. This year it’s “Bye Bye Birdie” and director Kelly Kates says 68 actors are involved — 32 of them youths. Performances are free and will be at 7 p.m. June 28 and 29 and at 2 p.m. June 30. The church is at 5894 S. Datura St., Littleton.

Littleton Museum

Six Foot Joe and the Red Hot Rhinos will perform rock, bluegrass, jazz at 7 p.m. on June 26 on the Littleton Museum lawn. Free. Bring chairs or blankets. Food truck available, or bring a picnic. 303-795-3950.

Music in Boulder

Colorado Music Festival at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder begins June 27 with 20 diverse concerts, featuring 95 guest musicians. Peter Oundjian is festival director. July 2-Brahm’s Trio for Horn, Violin and Piano and Dvorak’s Piano Quintet No. 2. Tickets cost $10. Coloradomusicfestival.org, 900 Baseline Road, Boulder.

Highlands Ranch park concerts

June 2 — Forever in Blue Jeans; June 27 — The Long Run; July 11 — Deja Blu; July 18 — A Country Music Project; July 25 — That Eighties Band. Free. Highlands Ranch Heritage Park, 9651 S. Quebec St., behind the post office. Each concert is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Patriotic performance

Castle Rock Band gives a patriotic concert at 7:30 p.m. June 29 at the Bandstand on Wilcox Street in downtown Castle Rock. Free.

Guthridge art

“Play of Light” — works by Jane Guthrie, will be exhibited at the Littleton Museum June 28 to Aug. 25 during museum hours. There will be large installation pieces and smaller dimensional works.

Quilts and glass

The gallery at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church will exhibit works by Peggy Herring (pieced quilts) and Sandy Van Der Kamp (glass art panels) June 22 to Aug. 5. 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Gwen Paton

Photographer Gwen Paton’s exhibit, “Photo Finds, Here and There,” runs July 2 to 31 at the Lone Tree Recreation Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle, Lone Tree. Prints include abstracts and rusty trucks, she writes. 303-708-3500.

Kaleidoscope reminder

The Kaleidoscope Juried Exhibit opens July 8 and runs to Aug. 2 at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts on the Arapahoe Community College campus at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. Juror is Mary Williams. Closing reception Aug. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. Open noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Free.
