In the fourth week of a search for an 11-year-old missing child, The El Paso Sheriff's Office has suspended its efforts in southern Douglas County, according to a spokeswoman.

Gannon Staunch was last seen Jan. 27 in his home near Colorado Springs by his step-mother between 3:15 and 4 p.m., according to a news release from EPSO.

“Although search efforts in southern Douglas County have been suspended, this investigation is not slowing down,” spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby wrote in an email to Colorado Community Media. “Investigative leads direct search efforts and we have teams available and ready to deploy should the need arise.”

The boy is about 4 feet 9 inches tall and 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the release.

Gannon's step-mother told investigators that the boy left home on foot to play at a friend's house down the street. He was wearing a blue jacket, jeans and tennis shoes.

To date, the sheriff's office has received over 718 tips, according to the most recent release, dated Feb. 21. These have included possible sightings, search suggestions, suspicious activity and found property. Investigators have canvassed the boy's neighborhood multiple times for information and used drones, horses and canines to aid their search.

Partners in the investigation have included search and rescue teams in Arapahoe, Douglas, Jefferson and Fremont counties. The FBI, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and multiple Colorado Springs law enforcement agencies have also assisted.
