Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s assistant principal/second flutist Catherine Peterson will perform with other members of the Ivy Ensemble — Erik Peterson on violin and Philip Stevens on viola — in a Summer Matinee Concert at 2 p.m. on July 10 in Hampden Hall at Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway. The program will include: Mozart’s “Duo for Violin and Viola” and Beethoven’s “Serenade.” Also scheduled July 17: Jason Shafer on clarinet, Ian Wisekal on oboe and Joshua Sawicki on piano performing Brahms’ “Clarinet Sonata,” Klughardt’s “Schilfleider” and Messager’s “Solo de Concours.” Tickets for these programs cost $15 at the door or at englewoodarts.org.

There was a little ogre named Shrek … Front Range Theatre Company will present “Shrek” on July 19 and 20 at Highlands Ranch High School, 9375 Cresthill Lane, Highlands Ranch. Director is Barb Dignan, retired HRHS drama teacher, who says she has more than 50 kids enrolled in the summer camp/production camp, which also meets at HRHS.
