Evergreen Park & Recreation District’s gymnasts wrapped up state competition in April.

EPRD’s 10 Gold gymnasts competed at their state championship April 16-17 with veteran Charlotte Konigsbauer leading the way for the team.

Konigsbauer scored in the nines on three events including a second-place finish on the vault on her way to earning a season high 36.225 in the All-Around. Close behind her was Annikah Ramsey, who also scored in the nines in three out of four events. Ramsey earned a bronze medal on the balance beam and in the All-Around.

Madelyn Burgess also earned a bronze medal on the balance beam and in the All-Around in her age division. The group’s efforts led the team to a fifth-place finish in the Medium Team Division. Seven gymnasts will head to Texas next month to represent Evergreen in the Xcel Gold competition at regionals.

EPRD’s 11 Platinum & Diamond gymnasts competed in their state meet at Peak Athletics in Highlands Ranch earlier in April. In the Diamond division, Charlotte Baysinger and Lila Yenter both turned in strong performances and earned a birth to regionals, where they will compete against gymnasts from Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. Baysinger’s top score of 9.2 on the floor exercise earned her a silver medal on the event.

Evergreen had nine gymnasts compete at the Platinum level. Evergreen’s top scores were turned in by Ailish Ocasek and Betsy Bogden, who scored a 9.15 on the floor to earn second in the event en route to a third-place finish in the All-Around.

Ocasek scored in the top three on vault, bars and beam to help her to also finish third in the All- Around in her age division. Teammate Ava Florence had her top performances on the floor and vault for a 9.0 and 9.15 respectively, placing second in both events.

Kaia Ruleman and Roxy Sanford had their personal bests on the balance beam with a 9.175 and a 9.15, both to finish second in the event. These gymnasts’ combined efforts helped lead Evergreen to a 10th-place team finish.

Eight of Evergreen’s nine platinum gymnasts qualified to compete at regionals.
