Elves and others have been hard at work filling Hudson Gardens’ trees and pathways with lights and assorted decorations so that families can embark on a magical holiday stroll through the gardens, enjoying music and perhaps stopping at Nixon’s Coffee House for a hot chocolate. Gardens are open from 5 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 24, closed for Christmas Day, then open again on those hours from Dec. 26-31, with last entry at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are not dated or timed and might make a great gift for someone. Tickets are available online through altitudetickets.com or at the gate. Free parking. Adults $10.50; children ages 4-12 $8, free 3 and under. Hudson Gardens members $9; military $9; groups 15+ $9 apiece. 6115 S. Santa Fe Drive. Hudsongardens.org.

Exhibit finale

“Natura Obscura,” the immersive art experience that has filled the Museum Outdoor Arts in Englewood ends Dec. 29. Advance tickets recommended: naturaobscura.org. Save $5 with advance purchase online. Coming soon to MOA: “Rauschenberg Reflections and Ruminations.” And, Design and Build Summer Internship applications are due by April 3. New plays

Tickets are on sale for the Colorado New Play Summit on Feb. 21-23 at the Denver Center for Performing Arts — a nifty gift for a theater lover. New Year’s Eve concert

The Littleton Symphony, directed by Jurgen de Lemos, will perform its “Third Annual New Year’s Eve Concert: A Night in Vienna” at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S. Datura St., Littleton. Tickets: littletonsymphony.org, 303-833-6824.

Thoughts of spring!

Dates are announced for the annual Monte Vista Crane Festival in 2020—March 6, 7, 8. One can get up close and personal with these spectacular birds which are migrating north to their nesting grounds in mid-March, early April. And the surrounding scenery in the valley is drop-dead gorgeous as well. It’s on our calendar…

Family theater
