What must an effective Assessor accomplish?

The most important part of the Assessor's duties is to produce fair and equitable valuations so that the taxpayers are not over or undertaxed.

The initial values are produced by using mass appraisal techniques. Mass appraisal is not a perfect system and the appeal process is one of the most important “Checks and Balances” for this system. It is extremely important that the taxpayers get fair and respectful treatment during the appeal process.

What traits are crucial for an Assessor to possess?

Crucial traits for an Assessor include but are not limited to: Leadership, Communication, Organization, Reliability, Knowledge, Experience, Respect for employees and Respectful interaction with the public.

What makes you the best choice for this office?

I am the most qualified and experienced candidate running for the office.

What will your top priority be, if elected?

To improve the services that are provided to the people of Adams County and to improve the work environment for the employees of the Assessor's Office.

As an elected official we must always be mindful that we hold the office as a public servant. Doing what is right for the people of Adams County should always be the first priority. Additionally, the employees deserve a comfortable workplace free of intimidation and hostility.

What else should voters know about you?

I worked in the Adams County Assessor's Office from 2004 to 2017. I started as a Residential Appraiser and worked my way up to the Commercial/Industrial Department Supervisor position. I served in that position for the last seven years of my employment with Adams County.

I hold a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license with 19 years of experience. Certified General Real Estate Appraiser is the highest license designation issued by the State of Colorado.
