Seniors from Legend High School in Parker had their official commencement ceremony June 25 after the county requested special permission to host the in-person event.
The Douglas County School District scheduled 14 graduation events for the local schools, with all taking place at EchoPark Stadium in Parker.
Graduates were allowed to bring a maximum of two guests and were seated six feet apart.
Senior Hayden Duncan kicked off the LHS ceremony by playing the national anthem on a trumpet. Other musical performances throughout the event included Corbin Spratt and Michael singing “History” by One Direction, Danielle VanderHeiden singing “The School/House That Built Me” by Miranda Lambert and a pre-recorded performance of Ethan Bahr, Jacob Barnum, Lucas Barta, Brady Meinhart singing an original song by Lucas Barta titled “Through the Open Door.”
Student speakers included Paige Feeder, James Hier, Sydney Houseman, Libby Peter, Chandler Fleming, Sunjoi Gandhi, Jess Green and Briar Moore.
