Whereas both our Jeffco County Commissioners and Sheriff are crying that they will not have enough money to keep a portion of our jail staffed and open; and

Whereas the Arapahoe County Sheriff states that he has far too many prisoners for his available space; and

Whereas all involved are crying for tax increases to solve their supposed problems;

Wouldn’t it make more sense, and benefit all, for Jeffco to take surplus Arapahoe County prisoners at a financial premium, at least for the next year, until our county can actually determine its true financial needs; given that it will automatically experience a noticeable increase in tax revenues next year as a result of its upwardly increased appraised property values?
