At around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 23, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9200 block of Merino Circle for a report of a possible death and contacted a man, identified as Dustin Neumann, 27, outside the house.
Inside the house, police found a deceased woman. Officers arrested Neumann at the scene. Though the investigation is ongoing, police believe Neumann and the victim knew one another.
Neumann is charged with a felony charge of second-degree murder and is being held at the Douglas County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim after the family has been notified.
