One person was fatally shot at an apartment complex in unincorporated Douglas County, near Lone Tree, on April 24, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in an April 25 news release.

Two people have been arrested. The sheriff's office is still looking for a male and female believed to be associated with the victim. No formal charges have been filed.

Deputies responded to a shots-fired call at 10169 Park Meadows Drive, an address within the apartment complex, at about 5:50 p.m., the release states. Deputies found one person lying on the ground, who was later pronounced dead on-scene by medical personnel.

The sheriff's office stated there is no danger to the public.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for any witnesses with relevant information to contact the DCSO tip line at 303-660-7579.
