Stickwork, a site-specific art installation by nationally recognized artist Patrick Dougherty, is a large-scale sculpture constructed from natural materials Denver Botanic Gardens’ Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton (off Wadsworth Boulevard at the south end of Chatfield State Park). Dougherty weaves flexible saplings into architectural forms, which remain on view until they fall apart. (Some have lasted for years.) Some saplings are chokecherry, gathered at Chatfield. Also — through Oct. 28, the Corn Maze. Rox Arts Gallery moves

From Oct. 21-24, you’ll see artists lugging their paintings, pottery, jewelry and other work out of the present Rox Arts Gallery, north along the sidewalk at Aspen Grove shopping center in Littleton, to a new, larger space at Unit 330, near Starbucks. More on this next week. Mark your calendar for a silent auction in the new space on Nov 4-9. There will be space to include more artists.

Englewood Arts Presents

“Cello/Piano Showpieces” opens the fall season of concerts in Hampden Hall, second floor of the Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway, at 2 p.m. Oct. 20, with cellist Matthew Zalkind and pianist Hsiao-Ling Lin performing. The program includes: Schumann: “Five Pieces in Folk Style”; Schubert: “Arpeggione Sonata in A Minor”; Stravinsky: “Suite Italienne for Cello and Piano.” The program is part of the Chamber Music of the Masters Series. Applewood Arts in Highlands Ranch

Applewood Arts Festival holds its 31st annual sale at Highlands Ranch High School, 9375 S. Cresthill Lane, Highlands Ranch on Oct. 27 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Oct. 28 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). This is a juried show, full and with a waiting list. Strollers allowed after 1 p.m. on Oct. 27 and all day Oct. 28. Library facelift

The renovation schedule is announced for the James H. LaRue Library in Highlands Ranch, starting with Oct. 15-19: Drive-up book return closed; Nov. 12: Shea Meeting Room closed for duration; Dec. 19: Library will close except for limited services of holds pick-up, returns, Your Lucky Day Items. Mixed media workshop

The Heritage Fine Arts Guild presents a workshop by Amelia Furman from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 at First Presbyterian Church of Littleton, 1609 W. Littleton Blvd. Her multi-layered landscapes, created with paint and collage are widely known. The workshop will walk attendees through her steps. Englewood Historic Preservation Society presents Melinda Elswick on Oct. 29. She will speak about “Colorado Volunteers in the Civil War — all over the map.” She will focus on the 1st Colorado Infantry and the government of the time, which gave names to streets, mountains, counties and more. Elswick will give her presentation at 2:30 p.m. at Englewood Public Library, 1000 Englewood Parkway, and at 6:30 p.m. at Brew on Broadway, 3445 S. Broadway. Free. Guests welcome.

Jazz orchestra
