State 5A basketball: Huskies made the field

AURORA -- Douglas County earned a spot in the state 5A boys basketball tournament this season.

The Colorado High School Activities Association released the brackets March 8.

The Huskies host Rampart in the first round at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9. The winner gets either ThunderRidge or Rocky Mountain in the second round Thursday, March 11.

Douglas County finished with a record of 9-4 in the regular season. Jaeton Hackley averages 19 points a game for the Huskies. Ty Nettles tosses in about 13 points a game. Keegan Phillips scores 11 points per contest.

Rampart also finished the regular season at 9-4. The Rams' top scorers are Tyler Edwards (almost 16 points per game) and Cole Bowen (14 ppg).

The final four is set for Tuesday, March 16, and the finals are set for Saturday, March 20, at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs;
