"We're excited to provide a state culminating event for student-athletes in Season B," said CHSAA assistant commissioner Adam Bright in a statement. "While we're at a different venue, the tradition of the CHSAA state wrestling tournament continues.
Originally, CHSAA wanted to run a dual-only format.
"But with the tradition of wrestling being an individual and team competition, we fought hard to secure a variance that allows for a more traditional format with an expanded capacity," Bright said.
CHSAA also said its variance to conduct the tournament will not allow fans to be in attendance. The events will be live-streamed.
The regional tournaments for boys and girls teams are this weekend. Attendance is at the discretion of local county health guidelines for capacity limits, CHSAA's statement said.
State brackets will be released Sunday, March 7.
