What makes you the best choice for this office?

I understand it is important to look at the unintended consequences of legislation and the subsequent regulation and taxes.

What can the Legislature do to ease the strain of rising housing prices on Colorado residents?

The rising cost of housing is a good example of legislation that caused terrible unintended consequences. Construction defect legislation was passed with good intentions. It had terrible consequences. It provided the ability to sue everyone from the architect on up for minor defects. Affordable housing came to a halt, homes were in high demand and the prices rose. Reducing the regulation on new home construction will increase the supply of homes and bring costs down.

What can be done to ensure the state's transportation system will be able to accommodate continued population growth?

Transportation is one of Colorado's most important issues. I moved a year ago to be closer to work. A drive that once took me 20 minutes was taking me upwards of 45 minutes or more and it was unpredictable. The size, condition and infrastructure of our roads need a lot of work. Transportation funding must be made a legislative priority, but that must not mean raising taxes on hard-working Coloradans.

What two issues demand more attention in the upcoming Legislative session than they received in the previous one, and why?

1. Protecting the right to privacy as protected by the Fourth Amendment and reining in government abuses of personal data collection. 2. Protecting people from abuses of civil asset forfeiture and eminent domain.

If elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?

It is my ambition to fight for individuals to live their dreams of opening

and growing small businesses. Small business is the engine of our economy. They are where American ingenuity and ability shine through. Small business is a ticket to a better life.

Reducing taxes and regulations will reduce the cost of taxes and fees and the time it takes to comply for businesses. Families also experience the costs and time in compliance.
