Authorities are looking for three suspects after thieves drove a stolen minivan through the entrance of the Boardroom restaurant at Broadway and Dry Creek Road on Feb. 17.
 
An employee arriving a little after 9 a.m. discovered the van still running inside the sports bar and steakhouse, said South Metro Fire Rescue spokeswoman Conor Wist.
 
Nobody was in the van, but security footage showed two men fleeing the scene after stealing items from inside the restaurant, said Littleton Police spokeswoman Krista Dimock.
 
The restaurant was back up and running on Feb. 20, said owner Alex Woods.
 
"The damage was a lot less than we thought it was going to be," Woods said. "Structurally the building is sound, but there's a lot of cosmetic work to be done. Luckily I've got an army of friends, family and customers to help pitch in."
 
Still, Woods said his insurance has a high deductible, and paying to repair the damage is a heavy lift.
 
"This is a tough business to begin with," he said. "This hurts."
 
Security footage showed the thieves drove the minivan into the building, and were followed by an accomplice in a pickup truck, Woods said. The three tried to pry an ATM in the entryway loose from its fittings but weren't able to break it loose. Instead they made off with a cash register and computer.
 
Woods said even though the burglars were masked and gloved, the surveillance footage is crystal clear. Littleton police recovered useful surveillance footage from neighboring businesses, he said. Woods believes some shady characters hanging around in the days before the burglary may have been casing the restaurant.
 
The investigation into the case is ongoing, said Littleton Police division chief Andy Smith. Police are working with multiple other agencies on the case but don't yet have anyone in custody, Smith said.
 
Woods said he's thankful for his loyal customers and their words of support. Some have floated the idea of organizing a fundraiser to help repair the damage, he said.
 
Woods also praised Littleton Police and South Metro Fire Rescue.
 
"They did an amazing job," Woods said. "The detectives and officers took it very seriously, and I have all the faith in the world they'll catch the people who did this."
 
Asked if he had words for the thieves, Woods said, "Nothing you can print in a family newspaper."
