Nick Sugar directs and rehearsals are underway — named “Best of the Year” in NYC … and they lived happily ever after — well, not exactly! This piece, by Dennis C. Glacino, had its first workshop in NYC in 2009. Following that: “Almost Heaven,” the John Denver story April 3-May 3 … 2450 W. Main St., 303-794-2787, townhallartscenter.org.

 PACE Center in Parker will produce “Roald Dahl’s Matilda” Jan. 17-Feb. 9, based on the popular children’s book, followed on Feb. 21 by “Friday Night Jazz” with the Colorado Jazz Contemporary Orchestra, performing music by Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderly. 303-805-6800, parkerarts.org.

 Highlands Ranch-based Performance Now Theatre Company will open “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to The Forum” on Jan. 10 at Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison St., Lakewood, running to Jan. 26. 303-918-1500. Next: “The Drowsy Chaperone” in March …
