At least 12 Douglas County residents have died from COVID-19

The novel coronavirus has killed at least 12 people in Douglas County as of April 9, according to data from the Tri-County Health Department and the county coroner.

Those who have died have ranged in ages from 52 to 91, Coroner Jill Romann said. 

While there may have been additional people who have died of COVID-19 in Douglas County hospitals, they are not included in this count unless they were residents of the county.

Three of the deaths of seniors have come from the Vi at Highlands Ranch senior living community, Romann said. It wasn't clear from which part of the facility the residents lived. A representative from Vi could not immediately be reached for comment.

As of April 9, there were 251 total cases in Douglas County. That includes 85 in Highlands Ranch, 40 in Castle Rock, 38 in Parker and 13 in Lone Tree.

While the names of those who have died were not available to the public, some demographic information on those patients, as provided by the coroner, is below:

• 83-year-old woman from Lone Tree 

• 54-year-old man from Parker 

• 91-year-old man from Highlands Ranch 

• 83-year-old man from Castle Rock 

• 91-year-old man from Highlands Ranch 

• 92-year-old woman from Castle Rock 

• 52-year-old man from Castle Rock

• 90-year-old woman from Littleton (within Douglas County) 

• 90-year-old man from Highlands Ranch 

• 75-year-old man from Highlands Ranch 

• 87-year-old man from Highlands Ranch 

• 90-year-old man from Highlands Ranch
