Black cowboys are focus of jazz show

“Cross That River: A Concert About the Black West,” with jazzman Allan Harris, tells the story of black cowboys in the unsettled West of the 1860s and about Blue, a runaway slave who escapes Texas to become one of America’s first black cowboys. It plays Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. at Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St., Lone Tree. Composed by Allan Harris, book by Allan and Pat Harris, directed by Regge Life. Curtis Center

“MTNS” is the new exhibit at Curtis Center for the Arts, 2349 E. Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, opening Jan. 11, with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Twelve artists portray images of our Rocky Mountains and how they affect us. Art is by instructors who teach at Curtis. Open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 303-797-1779.

LPS exhibit

Littleton Public Schools’ annual K-12 Exhibition will be held at Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College, 2400 W. Alamo Ave., Littleton, from Jan. 22 to Feb. 11, with a closing reception on Feb. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission free. 303-797-5649.

Littleton Museum

“Opening Outward,” sculpture by Jeff Glode Wise, will be exhibited at the Littleton Museum, 6028 S. Gallup St., Littleton, from Jan. 11 to March 1. 303-795-3950.

Depot Art Gallery

‘Frost/Nixon’

Vintage Theatre Company presents “Frost/Nixon” by Peter Morgan through Feb. 9 at 1468 Dayton St., Aurora at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays; 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
