Colleges from the West Coast, the Midwest and the Northern Plains were among the schools the BHS student-athletes chose.

"With this commitment comes expectations. But it also provides opportunities for them to become better in their sports and in the classroom," said BHS athletic director Lindsey Solano.

"Some of you, I've coached for just a couple of years. A couple of you, I've coached in every sport you could sign up for," said Joel Flancher, whose son was one of the signees. "I'm proud to see this group. I'm proud to have taken part in you guys getting better. You guys deserve it."

We'll have more on the ceremony in the May 5 issue of the Brighton Standard Blade.
