Colorado Ballet’s iconic ‘Nutcracker’ set for TV

We just learned that Colorado Ballet will partner with Rocky Mountain PBS (Channel 6 in the Denver area) to broadcast “The Nutcracker,” beginning at 7 p.m. on the evening of Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, and on five other dates through the holiday season. In addition to Thanksgiving, it will air at 3 p.m. on Nov. 27; 9 p.m. on Dec. 18; 1 a.m. on Dec. 19; 7 p.m. on Dec. 24; and 12 a.m. on Dec. 25 (the time that many people would call midnight on Dec. 24). The performance also may be streamed at no cost during the holiday season on the Rocky Mountain PBS app, downloadable at rmpbs.org/pbs-video-app. For more information, go to rmpbs.org or coloradoballet.org.

“Pulling Harvey Out of Her Hat” by Denver author Mimi Pockross is the story of Mary Coyle Chase, who created the favorite play, “Harvey,” about the 6-foot-tall invisible rabbit and his buddy, Elwood P. Dowd. Just published and available.

‘The Seasons’

Parasol Arts director Lorita Travaglia has regrouped on a performance, “The Seasons,” that was scheduled onstage this fall. A one-week viewing ticket is available at parasolarts.org. Argentine Tango and visual arts will be filmed and offered via streaming format for a week starting Nov. 28 ($15).

Kirkland Museum

Kirkland Museum, at 12th Avenue and Bannock Street in Denver, announces a showing of new additions to its collection of Colorado and regional artworks, opening Jan. 22 to March 14, 2021.
