Englewood shooting leaves one dead, one injured

A shooting in Englewood the afternoon of July 14 left one male victim dead and another injured. Police were seeking suspects in what they believe was an attempted robbery, according to a news release.

Officers with the Englewood Police Department responded to the 3600 block of the South Acoma Street/South Bannock Street alley shortly before 2:40 p.m. after a shooting was reported, the release states. One victim, age unknown, was deceased, while an 18-year-old man had been shot in the neck and was taken to an area hospital.

Neither victim's name had been released as of the evening of July 14.

Two or more people in a white car, possibly a Chevy Malibu, attempted to rob the victims in the alley, the department’s initial investigation has determined, according to the release. Police were unable to locate the suspects and the investigation was ongoing.

No further information was immediately available.
