Governor Jared Polis (D) visited Westminster's Cotton Creek Elementary Aug. 14 to mark the beginning of school and the start of the schools full-day kindergarten program.

Polis toured the school and then stopped in teacher Amy Pollack's kindergarten classroom to read the book "All are Welcome" to her students. Pollack's classroom was one of two half-day kindergartens in the 2018-19 season at the school that moved to full-day programs going forward, part of the governor and State Legislators' push last year.
