Kirkland Museum places chair exhibit online

Pull Up a Chair” is a new exhibit at the Kirkland Museum, available online. Stacey Johnson of Littleton is media contact. “The title is a nod to our current stay-at-home orders,” she says. The museum of decorative arts includes 600 chairs in its collection and about 150 are on display. Visit KirklandMuseum.org — and plan to physically visit this cool spot when we can, at 1201 Bannock St., Denver. (Parking available just north.)

Powwow canceled until 2021

We have a notice that the 20th Annual Indian Market and Powwow at The Fort Restaurant in Morrison is postponed until June 2021. We look forward to this display of native arts and music — and a lunch at the Fort — next year. The Fort’s Historic Lecture series includes John Steinle’s “The Great American Desert: Major Stephen Long’s Colorado Expedition of 1820,” which is postponed to Oct. 1-11 of this year. Colorado Book Awards

Colorado Humanities announces online Finalist Readings and conversations with authors for 2020 awards: See coloradohumanities.org and @coloradohumanities for updated details. Readings by finalists will be at 7 p.m. April 24 via Zoom and FacebookLive.

Depot Art Gallery

Littleton’s Depot Art Gallery artists are working hard at home as they create now works to exhibit at the historic gallery as soon as it can by open for art lovers again, according to publicist/artist Mary Clark.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science

“Canaries in the Mine: Three Billion Birds Lost” is the alarming title for an April 29 online talk from 7-8:30 p.m. by Arvind Panjabi of the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, with registration underway now dmns.org/learn.

Phamaly

The Phamaly Theatre Company, which offers opportunities for actors with a disability, announces that its annual summer musical will be “Alice in Wonderland,” scheduled July 22 through Aug. 9 in the Space Theatre at the Denver Center.
