LHS faces Cherokee Trail at 9 a.m. Friday, May 27. The winner faces either Valor Christian or Broomfield at 2 p.m. The loser plays the loser of the Regis Jesiuit-Douglas County game at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 28.
The Lightning shut out ThunderRidge 8-0 in the regional tournament title game. Braden Hollis had a base hit and two RBIs. Marcus Romero and Derek Olsen had a base hit and an RBI, as did Peyton Machela.
LHS shaded Grandview 5-4 in the tournament opener, thanks to a four-run fifth inning. Brandon Sanchez had three hits. Kieran Gaffney had two, and Blake Roberts, Marcus Romero, Derek Olsen, Ethan Sanchez and Wes Barnett drove in the runs.
