Is your neighbor’s septic system installed correctly and functions well? Have you been in need of a birth or death certificate? Tri-County Health provides these services

Tri-County Health is an accredited, award-winning department that has highly credentialed employees overseeing these services. The nursing staff provides WIC for pregnant and nursing mothers, immunizations for the uninsured, has a robust evidence-based Nurse Family partnership, a program that is the best way to prevent risky behavior in children. The Infectious Disease Department coordinates disease outbreaks such as hepatitis A, pertussis and infectious diarrheal conditions. Our school nursing personnel work with them on an almost daily basis.

All of these services are provided for approximately a mere $7 per citizen. These can be provided at this rate due to the partnership we currently have with two other counties, Adams and Arapahoe. These counties are considerably larger than Douglas and contribute to services based on population.

Please do your homework and pay attention to what is happening with the plan for Douglas County to discontinue our relationship with Tri-County Health Department. Do not allow the county commissioners to take this step until you are assured it is in our best interest.
