Letter: Weekly is the choice for sheriff

Posted

Douglas County is at a critical moment in time. Our public safety is in crisis and we find ourselves at a crossroads: either we make the same mistakes as Denver and further endanger our communities, or we can elect law enforcement leadership we trust to put us on a better path. This year's county sheriff's race will determine which course we take and who will lead us there.

Darren Weekly is the man for the job! He is the only candidate who I trust to place us on a better path. He has the skills and the experience to keep our communities safe on day one.

Over his career, Darren has worked in and been in charge of almost every single department in the Douglas County Sheriff's office. From field training officer, SWAT, undercover narcotics, lead detective to captain; Darren knows firsthand what course to chart for the safest possible communities.

Darren is a worker and a community relationship builder. My neighbors, my family and I can think of many positive encounters we have had with Darren over the years — both on and off the job. Darren is a husband and a father; he and his family have lived in Douglas County for nearly three decades.

Twenty-eight years of law enforcement speaks for itself. If you have lived in Douglas County for any amount of time, you have enjoyed the benefits of capable and determined law enforcement by Darren Weekly and those who serve under his command.

Join me, my family, my neighbors, parents and community members who are voting for Darren Weekly for Douglas County sheriff.

He is the man for the job!
