Letter: Ganahl lagging as pro-life activist

Heidi Ganahl as a gubernatorial candidate says she is pro-life, and she may be, but she’s certainly not the pro-life activist she professes to be. Heidi will continue in a leadership position as a CU regent until 2023 where she has been since 2017. In 2016 the University of Colorado approved a policy for conducting human fetal tissue (HFT) research. Now that she’s being prompted to action by constituents and with the recent high-profile Supreme Court announcement to push the abortion decision back to the states, Heidi is suddenly proposing to form a committee to seek alternatives to HFT.

Given the opportunity over the last five years, Heidi has a failed record as a pro-life activist. Her idea to suddenly form a committee is too little too late. If Heidi loses the primary, and she should, she will remain a CU regent for another year where we should give her the opportunity to make good on her promise to create a committee and find alternatives to using aborted baby parts.

Alternatively, Greg Lopez has an authentic history as a pro-life activist and as an effective leader for all our conservative concerns. Your choice for governor should be Greg Lopez if you want Colorado to avoid becoming an abortion vacation destination. So get on the bandwagon, there is so much more about Greg to get excited about as governor.
