Dear Douglas County DOT,
I would like to thank you for the abysmal snow clearing job you did after the late December storm. Your complete disregard for neighborhood safety and resident security gave all of us in the Red Oakes area a chance to get our daily exercise in below-freezing weather, chopping frozen snow and ice to get our cars out of our garages. Even today (Jan. 14) three of my neighbors are outside chopping ice to clear sidewalks and provide car parking space.
I'm sure there are valid justifications for not plowing our streets; trucks are in the shop, gas not available, can't find help, laziness.
You really blew it this time. Next time, please try to do better.
