Posted

A 23-year-old Littleton resident who had been reported missing to the Littleton Police Department last week was found dead, police said.

Catherine Hay was found in Chaffee County by Littleton police and the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office. Both departments, in a statement from Littleton police, said they "do not suspect foul play."

Hay was last seen around 9 a.m. Sept. 18 in The Meadows neighborhood in Castle Rock and had been reported missing to Littleton police Sept. 19. Her last known location, according to police, was in Granite — southeast of Twin Lakes.

According to Littleton police spokesperson Sheera Poleman, Hay's family described her as an "avid hiker."
