Parker has been named the second best place to live in the United States by Money.com. The town trails only Evans, Georgia, in the publication's 2020 rankings, released Sept. 22.
“Parker is thrilled to be ranked as one of America’s best places to live,” Parker Mayor Mike Waid said in a news release. “We are proud of our fantastic community and are excited to be recognized for all of the great things that Parker has to offer.”
A news release by Money explains some of the factors that weighed heavily in the rankings.
"This year, Money looked at towns and cities with a population of at least 25,000 and ranked the Best Places to Live putting the greatest emphasis on economic factors, like employment opportunities, as well as supply and demand for homes, cost of living, quality of schools, racial and economic diversity, and health and safety."
On its website, Money gave Parker kudos for its relatively low unemployment rate and its strong sense of community.
Broomfield, at No. 18, was the only other Colorado municipality to crack Money's top 20.
