The stands of Red Rocks Amphitheatre were filled with green caps and gowns for the graduation of the Mountain Vista High School class of 2022. Friends of family members packed the venue and speeches by honored seniors and MVHS principal Michael Weaver capped off the proceedings.

“Our school runs on open-heartedness and kindness,” honored senior Riya Bhat said in her address. “We find connection in the little moments, whether this be a quick smile in a hallway or a pat on the back at the end of class.”

Brayden Tuers highlighted the senior’s class’ resiliency and accomplishments in his senior address.

“We are the seniors of Mountain Vista,” Tuers said. “It’s time we know where we got our name. Today we have arrived at the top of our first mountain and today we see the vista of the next.”

In his address, Weaver advised the graduating seniors to always seek to make a difference, even if they feel their efforts may not garner much attention.

“You never know when your contributions make the biggest difference,” Weaver said. “There are also times when what you do may not visibly count, but it still matters. Thank you for making it matter. Take care of yourselves and take care of each other.”
