The City of Lone Tree is reopening its facilities as metro Denver prepares for reemergence into day-to-day activities.

The city has opened its main office, 9220 Kimmer Drive, to 50% staff capacity. The building is open to the public on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and on Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m., according to city officials. Appointments are recommended.

On June 8, the city plans to move to its “New Normal” phase, which will remain in place until a vaccine or treatment for COVID-19 is found. The “New Normal” phase allows up to 70% staff capacity. All offices will be open to the public, including the municipal court.

The city still recommends those with vulnerable immune systems make an appointment. In-person council meetings will return during this phase.

Meanwhile, the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District, which serves the city, has been moving through a phased approach to reopening its indoor and outdoor facilities.

Parks, trails, golf courses, pickleball and tennis courts, batting cages and the South Suburban BMX track are open again. And the district tentatively plans to reopen the Carson Nature Center, Family Sports Center, ice arenas and the Sports Dome on June 1, subject to state orders.

The Lone Tree Recreation Center is currently open with social distancing guidelines. Ball fields, basketball courts, dog parks, outdoor pools, picnic shelters, playgrounds and skate parks also await the go-ahead from the state.

Douglas County Libraries, including the Lone Tree branch, are closed to walk-in service but are accepting book returns, and curbside pick-up service is available. Hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m.

Elsewhere in Lone Tree, Park Meadows mall reopend its interior spaces for business May 24, and the city's restaurants are now allowed to resume restricted inside dining.
