Parker DMV office closed due to positive COVID-19 test

State driver license office on Cottonwood Drive shuttered indefinitely

Posted

An employee of the Parker Driver License Office has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from the state public-health department Thursday.

The office affiliated with the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles, at 17924 Cottonwood Drive, closed Thursday until further notice. While it is closed, the office will undergo a deep cleaning, in keeping with recommendations from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the release states.

Two additional employees are being tested. One of those employees tried coming to work on Tuesday but was turned away at the medical screening prior to entering the office, the release states.

All three employees were last in the office on Monday and were following DMV protocols of wearing masks, social distancing and washing their hands frequently, according to the release.

Customers who have appointments in the Parker Driver License Office the week of July 20-26 should monitor the state’s DMV closures and openings site at Colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/closures-and-delays. There you will find updates on reopenings and how to reschedule an appointment.

Staff at all Colorado driver license offices wear masks, and glass barriers were added and counter stations in all DMV offices before reopening in May to further protect customers and employees. DMV administration will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they are available.
