Businesses that provide pediatric dentistry in Adams County are going to celebrate their joint grand opening at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 22, at Adams County’s first community resource hub, 7190 Colorado Blvd., Commerce City.

The two are Kids First Health Care and Kids in Need of Dentistry. Both are located on the same floor of the community resource hub.

Kids First Health Care provides primary and preventive health services in partnership with local schools.  Kids in Need of Dentistry's goal is to eliminate dental disease through treatment and education.

The hub centralizes such things as dental services and other social services in one building. It’s near the East 72nd Avenue Street N-Line light-rail station and within walking distance of two Adams County District 14 schools, according to a release.

The statement also cited research that indicated overall wellness requires medical, social, psychological, cultural, financial and individual support. The community hopes to provide that by addressing social determinants of health and promoting equitable health outcomes for all.

“We have a state-of-the-art primary care clinic that includes medical and mental health care services, spacious, bright and colorful exam rooms, beautiful murals and interactive spaces that are both comfortable and convenient for our patients and their families,” explained Kids First Health Care Executive Director Whitney Connor in the statement. “Thanks to generous capital funders, Kids First was able to purchase the fourth floor of the building. The purchase represents our unwavering commitment to our local community members. We have been here for 44 years, and we are here to stay to serve today’s children and generations to come.”

“KIND has been part of this community for over 100 years, and we’re proud to partner with our neighbors to build a dental home that increases oral health equity by empowering the community to decide what that means and needs to look like for them" said KIND's executive director, Ellie Burbee. "This is more than a clinic. KIND and our community Hub partners are building a place for and with the communities we serve. Every room we design, every service we offer, will continue to be informed by the voiced needs of client families. That is what makes this project special. It belongs to the community."

The statement said the county’s early childhood partnership child and family health and well-being team has been at the hub for a bit more than a year. Part of its role is support services, such as resource navigation, for parents and family groups.

“Two years after the launch of this idea, we continue evolving and growing to make health care and other support services even more accessible to the communities we serve,” said ECPAC Executive Director Lisa Jansen Thompson in the statement.
