Phamaly brings ‘Chicago’ to Denver Center

Singer/actor Leonard Barrett Jr. will star as Billy Flynn in productions of “Chicago,” the Kander and Ebb musical about “murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery — all those things we hold near and dear to our hearts.” It is Phamaly’s production in 2019 — playing Aug. 1-21 at the Studio Loft in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Includes ASL interpretation, audio description, Tactile Tour Braille playbills, in addition to standard performances. Tickets: denvercenter.org. ‘Shrek’ in Highlands Ranch

Lavender Festival

Reminder that Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road, southwest of Littleton, hosts the 2019 Lavender Festival on July 20. While there, visit the “One Fell Swoop” immersive art piece as well as beautiful flower gardens. Tickets needed.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival

The Annual Colorado Shakespeare Festival is open at the University of Colorado-Boulder, featuring performances in the outdoor Mary Rippon Theatre and in the University Theatre. “Romeo and Juliet,” “12th Night,” “As You Like It.” Tickets start at $18.

Henry Awards

“Kaleidoscope: A Juried Exhibition,” is open at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College, 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, through Aug. 2. Hours: noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Free.

Littleton Fine Arts Guild

The 36th All Colorado Show at The Depot Gallery, sponsored by the Littleton Fine Arts Guild, runs July 23-Aug. 24 at the Depot, 2069 W. Powers Ave., Littleton. Desmond O’Hagen is the juror this year. A reception will be from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 2.

All-Colorado at Curtis Center

July 13 was the opening date for Curtis Center for the Arts’ All-Colorado Art Show, juried by Colin Parson, director of galleries at the Arvada Center. It will run through Aug. 31 at 2349 E.
