June 21 marked the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.

In the weeks immediately before and after the solstice, the sun sets around 8:30 p.m. local time.

At Golden's South Table Mountain, the hours preceding sunset are a perfect time for biking, hiking, running and photography. The 1,484-acre park with 14.2 miles of trails offer excellent views of Lakewood, Denver, Golden and the nearby foothills.
