State 5A football playoffs: Pine Creek grounds Lightning

Despite some first-quarter excitement, Legacy High School fell to Pine Creek in the 5A playoffs Nov. 10 by a score of 30-24.

LHS quarterback Kullen Lerma completed 11 of 24 passes for 108 yards. He ran for a touchdown as part of a 48-yard rushing effort on 11 carries Tyler Anderson carried the ball 12 times for 65 yards and scored a touchdown.

Will Thurston caught three passes for 45 yards.

Eagles' quarterback ,Cameron Cooper was 9-for-16 for 13o yards and two touchdowns. Running bhack Jonathan Coar carried the ball 15 times for 84 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Jeremy Lydiatt caught three passes, one of which went for a touchdown. Kai Goetze caught a 31-yard scoring pass for the other receiving touchdown.

The Lightning ended the season with a 9-3 overall record and an undefeated mark in league play.
