Adams City downed Thornton 14-4 in five innings Oct. 5 on the Trojans' field. The game, which was part of the Colorado 7 League tournament, ended early because of the state's mercy rule.

Elenna Gray and Trinity Reed had two hits, as did Adrianna Villalpando. Araya William had two hits and drove in a run. Keila Saucedo had a base hit and the Trojans' other RBI.

Deysi Palacios had a base hit and four RBIs for the Eagles. Maritza Rodriguez had three hits and two RBIs. Louise Diaz added three hits and drove in a run.

Thornton beat Skyview 17-2 in a tournament game Oct. 7. Julionna Sandoval had two RBIs. as did Mya Grady and Mia Gray. Mya Grady was the winning pitcher. She threw a one-hitter over three innings and struck out three.
