With the metro area's cultural scene booming, New Year's Eve offers a way to ring in 2020 for everyone. I've selected five options, ranging from small and intimate to big and brash, which will allow you to bid adieu to 2019 in whichever style fits you best.

Introverts New Year's Eve Party

New Year's Eve isn't for everyone. Some people don't fancy being surrounded by strangers and trying to have a conversation over way-too-loud music, but also don't want to spend it alone. BookBar, 4280 Tennyson St. in north Denver, has those very people covered with its Introverts New Year's Eve Party.

Attendees will be able to play board games, do some silent reading and there will even be a coloring portion. There will be a traditional midnight countdown and champagne toast, but not many places are encouraging people to wear their comfiest socks.

Tickets for the event — which begins at 9 p.m. — are $30 and include snacks, games and activities, the champagne toast and a 20 percent-off coupon for any book purchase (because everyone's resolution should be to read more).

Details and tickets can be found at www.bookbardenver.com/event/introverts-new-years-eve-party.

NYE in the City

If one is going to start both a new year and a new decade on the same evening, it makes sense to do so with style and a couple extra levels of swank. Those who want to start the 20s by splurging a little can do so at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver's, 1111 14th St. in Denver, NYE in the City party.

The event begins at 9 p.m. and will be held in the hotel's grand ballroom, where black tie dress is encouraged. Entertainment will include Cirque du Soleil-style performances from highly-skilled and costumed dancers, and tunes to dance the night away.

Tickets range from $79 to $99 and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com.

New Year's Eve 2020

Westminster's Hoffbrau Bar & Grill, 9110 Wadsworth Parkway, is a great place to celebrate the new year for those looking for a loud, raucous party with no shortage of activities.

The venue opens at 8 p.m. and makes use of every inch of the available 15,000 square feet. There's a massive bar, plenty of seating, pool and other bar games. But the biggest draw is the massive stage and dancing area, which on the eve will be filled with people getting down to the music of The Hot Lunch Band.

Tickets (include party favors and champagne) are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Get the pertinents at www.eventbrite.com.

Roaring into 2020 1920s Style

There are bound to be plenty of 1920s references in the coming decade, so you might as well start it off in style at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Blvd. in Lakewood, which is not only hosting its 16th annual New Year's Eve party, but it also has some of the best views of the Denver around.

The event is themed around the roaring 20s (that's 1920s, mind) and includes heavy appetizers (including a seafood and dessert display), champagne toast, balloon drop and tunes courtesy of the 14-piece Diamond Empire Band.

The event kicks off at 8 p.m. and tickets are $95. If you're planning on really tying one on, there are options to reserve a room with breakfast in the morning. Secure your spot at www.eventbrite.com.

New Year's Eve with Denver Union Station

This is my biggest event recommendation of the night, taking place in one of the most historic and beautiful places in the city — Union Station, 1701 Wynkoop. Befitting such a location, there are actually three options, all under the same roof.

The first is Great Hall Silent Disco and Light Show, which will absolutely make for some fantastic people watching. Attendees will be treated to a light show in the famous great hall, and can choose from three live silent disco DJs to get them moving.

Table Service at The Cooper Lounge offers an upscale addition to the silent disco by offering table service on the mezzanine overlooking the hall. This option includes entry to the disco, as well as a selection of passed canapés and includes a complimentary midnight champagne.

Finally, there's a VIP Speakeasy option, which is hosted in the historic lower level of Union Station. Tickets include unlimited complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres, an intimate piano performance and access to the Great Hall.

All the events begin at 9 p.m. Tickets for the silent disco are $80, table service at The Cooper Lounge are $120 and the speakeasy is $200. No matter which option you go with, you'll be in a great location to hop over to the 16th Street Mall for the city's New Year's Eve fireworks.
