Addie Bouck, a senior at Littleton High School, is a busy young woman who is adept with time management.

It takes a minute or so for her to list all the activities and clubs in which she participates.

She plays volleyball on the Lions' varsity, she is on the speech and debate team, a National Honor Society member, works in public relations for the National Honor Society, is in the International Bacalauerate program and is involved with a couple new clubs at Littleton.

“I'm in a lot,” she admitted. “I had older brothers and going into high school, I would look at their yearbooks and said: `What is high school? I'm scared.'

“But this looks so exciting and I'm going to be on every page and do everything and try everything... I like to do everything because I like to meet people. So it's worth it, not having a lot of free time.”

Bouck, a middle blocker, didn't start playing volleyball until her sophomore year.

“I hope I have improved,” she said. “Volleyball is such a mental sport. The more I'm able to forget about the mistakes and keep going is something than can transfer into life.”

After 28 sets played, Bouck had 39 kills and led the team with 39 blocks with 14 digs, three assists and two aces.

"She's a natural leader and drives our team for success, and the girls feed off that energy. You can tell she's just that way throughout life in school by how many people know her and come to say hi and come to the games. She's really made the improvement and jumped quickly as a volleyball player."

Q&A with Bouck

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My brother Thatcher. He was a rower in college (Santa Clara) and my parents were rowers too. He played lacrosse at Littleton. When I would go to his college and he would talk about rowing and how nervous he would get and how close he was to everyone in his boat, that was inspiring for me to see.

What is your favorite class in school and why?

History. I'm not a big math or science person because I like to argue things. I like to go back and forth, and history is more subjective

What do you like to do away from sports and school?

When do have free time, I'm spending it with my friends hanging out, because I don't have much free time.

What are your plans after high school?

College and hopefully, club volleyball.

What is the toughest thing about being a middle blocker?

I'm not the fastest person out there so I feel like getting there is hard for me.

Which is more fun, a successful spike or a block?

It is really satisfying to get a hit that goes straight to the ground. You know that there was a perfect pass. I feel like blocking is more exciting.

What is your favorite movie?

“Surf's Up.” Both my brothers also loved it and we would always watch it in our minivan on the way to school. With this movie, we were all collective in that it is great.
