Water blossoms in spotlight at Denver Botanic Gardens

The Colorado Water Garden Society is partnering with Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St. in Denver, for a Water Blossom Celebration near Monet Pool, where water lilies thrive, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 7. There will be information, tours of the water garden and free plants, as long as they last, according to member Jim Arneill, who lives in Centennial and tends his own water garden. (There is an entrance fee for non-members.) See botanicgardens.org.

SunSET Concerts

Englewood has two concerts remaining in the free 6 to 8 p.m. Summer SunSET series at the City Center Amphitheater, 1000 Englewood Parkway. On Aug. 5 is the Walker Williams Band and on Aug. 12 is Raising Cain.

Town Hall announces

Littleton’s Town Hall Arts Center has announced six Main Stage shows for 2021-2022: “The Fantasticks;” “Winter Wonderettes;” “Plaid Tidings;” “Little Shop of Horrors;” “Once Upon This Island” and “The Wedding Singer,” as well as “Town Hall Sessions,” described as “an intimate concert series” in 2022. Phamaly

Phamaly Theatre Company is selling tickets for its production of “Alice in Wonderland” at Su Teatro, 721 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, 7:30 to 9 p.m. from Aug. 14 to Sept. 5. Tickets: $30. New Artistic Director Ben Ranaan is now at Phamaly’s helm. See phamaly.org.

Cherry Creek Theatre

Cherry Creek Theatre will present “Tenderly, the Rosemary Clooney Musical,” based on the life of the famous American singer, from Aug. 6-29 in the Elaine Wolf Theatre at the Mizel Arts and Cultural Center, 350 S. Dahlia St., Denver. Abby Apple Boes will sing the Clooney part, with Jeffrey Parker also featured. Kelly Van Oosbree directs, with David Nehls as music director. On Aug. 6, there will be a special celebration honoring founders Maxine and Mark Rossman at 6:30 p.m. with a $75 ticket. Sheridan Community Market

An outdoor community market will be held in the Sheridan High School parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 31. Local vendors will sell food and drinks, including fresh produce, pressed juice, arepas, pupusas, tacos, jam and canned preserves. Children’s activities and free books will be offered by Arapahoe Libraries. Community partners include Arapahoe Libraries, City of Sheridan, Groundwork Denver, Sharing With Sheridan Food Pantry, Sheridan Rising, Sheridan School District 2, Sisters of Color United for Education and the Tri-County Health Department. Littleton Symphony

The Littleton Symphony announces four outdoor summer concerts. Bring blankets or chairs. Three concerts are free, but a $10 donation is suggested. All are at 7 p.m. Aug. 11: Aspen Grove Shopping Center Picnic Area, 7301 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. Aug. 19: Bethany Lutheran Church Courtyard, 44500 E. Hampden Ave., Cherry Hills Village; Aug. 22: Hudson Gardens, 6115 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. NOTE: Tickets are needed for this one and may be obtained on Eventbrite.com.
