CHSAA releases state 5A softball brackets

The Colorado High School Activities Association released the state 5A softball brackets Oct. 18.

Chatfield drew the No. 8 seed and faces Grand Junction Central at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Aurora Sports Park, East Colfax Avenue and Tower Road. The winner faces either Horizon or Castle View in the 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal round.

Arvada West is the 14th seed and plays third-seeded Fossil Ridge at 12:15 p.m. Friday. The winner takes on either Mountain Vista or Smoky Hill in the quarterfinals.

Columbine and Lakewood high schools also advanced. The Rebels are the No. 2 seed and face Rock Canyon at 12:15 p.m. Friday. The winner faces either Lakewood or Chaparral in the 2:30 p.m. quarterfinals.
