A man walked into the Greenwood Village police headquarters and said he had just killed his wife by strangling her, leaving her at a library in west Centennial, authorities said.

Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the library and forced entry into the building, where they found a deceased female, the sheriff’s office said in a Dec. 10 news release. The homicide occurred that morning, according to the release.

The 36-year-old man, Jesus Roberto Gonzalez Fierro, said his wife was a cleaner at the library located at Uinta Street and Arapahoe Road in Centennial. The library at that intersection is Castlewood Library, a short drive west of Interstate 25.

The man was arrested on charges relating to homicide and a “fugitive of justice” warrant out of Denver, according to the news release.

Castlewood Library’s webpage said as of the night of Dec. 10 that the library is “Closed until further notice” and “Closed until 9:00am Sunday, Dec 19th.”
