With the assistance of the Aurora SWAT team, the Parker Police Department took Tony Conyers, 44 years old, into custody as a suspect for the fatal accident.
In a statement, the Parker Police Department thanked the community for their tips and assistance as well as the Aurora Police Department for their efforts in apprehending Conyers.
On the evening of Aug. 21, an officer with the Parker Police Department attempted to pull over a Chevy Monte Carlo on Parker Road near Plaza Drive .
Shortly after the attempt to stop the vehicle, Parker dispatch received calls of an accident at Parker and Lincoln.
It was determined the same suspect related to the shoplifting incident had struck the victim who was crossing Parker Road in a designated walkway.
Officers gave the victim CPR before he was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away.
