Posted

Englewood police reported an "officer involved shooting" in the 4100 block of South Cherokee, between Oxford and Princeton Avenues, Tuesday night.

Police social-media posts are urging residents to avoid the "very active scene" until further notice.

Police reported about 3:20 p.m. that officers were "engaged in a tactical operation" and neighbors were told to shelter in place. Video on the Nextdoor social media platform shows an armored vehicle driven through the exterior wall of a house.

Police closed off streets in a widening area through the afternoon.
