Sadie Bren and Sarah Stonehocker of Holy Family made it to the finals at No. 2 doubles at the state 3A tennis tournament June 12.

They beat Anna Wittenberg and Paige Howenstein of Dawson School 6-3, 6-1.

In the finals. Maisy Schoenman and Maria Christoffersen of D'Evelyn claimed the state title by defeating  Bren and Stonehocker 6-1, 6-3 in the finals.

The Tigers' No. 3 doubles team (Audrey Brown and Clara Neismer) lost a three-set semifinal match to Colorado Academy's Yenni Cohen and Maude Tretzell.

Colorado Academy's Avery Farmer and Amanda Wilson beat holy Family's Ava Silverstein and Avery Alderman 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinals at No. 4 doubles.

6:45 p.m. June 11

COLORADO SPRINGS --Seven of the 11 members of Holy Family's girls tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the state 3A girls tennis tournament.

Holy Family's Laura Baker, a freshman, moved into the quarterfinals at No. 3 singles June 11. She beat Pueblo Central's Danielle De Young 6-2, 6-3.

The quarterfinal round wasn't kind to Baker. She lost 6-0, 7-5 to Eloise Shehan of Dawson School.

The No. 2 doubles team of Sarah Stonehocker and Sadie Bren swept past St. Mary's Elizabeth Rysavy and Lily Delgado 6-0, 6-0.  Stonehocker and Bren moved to the semis with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Grace Allen and Sofia Brunner of Vail Mountain.

The No. 3 doubles tandem of Audrey Brower and Clara Meiner of the Tigers bested St. Mary's Gretchen Czelatdko and S abrina Damien 6-1, 6-1.  Brower and Meiner then defeated Eaton's Emily Brisendine and Abby Copeland in the quarters by scores of 6-4, 6-4.

At No. 4 doubles, Ava Silverstein and Avery Alderman of the Tigers had an easy time of it with St. Mary's Academy's Arianna Holdlewsky and Hailey Hussmann 6-2, 6-0. The quarterfinal round saw Silverstein and Alderman beat Peak to Peak's Amanda Skinner and Megan Skinner 7-6, 6-1. 

When the semifinal round gets started June 12, Silverstein and Alderman face Colorado Academy's Avery Farmer and Amanda Wilson.

At No. 1 singles, Jordyn Van Manen of The Vanguard School beat Holy Family's Lindsey Bartoletta 6-4, 6-1 in the opening round.  At No. 2 singles, Alexis Gillo of Dawson School beat HFHS' Emily Lindoerfer 6-2-6-0.

Elsewhere, Vail Mountain's Alli Bennett and Bayli McSpadden downed Holy Family's No. 1 doubles team of Megan Smolky and Kelly Whitehoff 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.

Skyview High School sent three players to the state meet. At No. 2 doubles, Allyna Bright and Lydia Tonneson of Salida downed Skyview's Carolina Munoz and Mariana Orozco 6-2, 6-2. Skyview's No. 2 singles player, Marsus Merino, fell in the first round to D'Evelyn's Evelyn Oltmans 6-0, 6-0.
