What must an effective Assessor accomplish?

Provide quality leadership to ensure that the duties of the Assessor's office, required by Colorado Statute, are accomplished and deadlines are met. Ensure that an appropriate analysis of the market, using fully investigated valid sales, is created to produce property values that are fair and equitable. Make sure that all educational requirements for appraisal licensure are met. Create an atmosphere within the office that promotes camaraderie and enhances customer service.

What traits are crucial for an Assessor to possess?

Honesty, integrity, understanding, courage and leadership. The ability to handle situations in a mature, reasonable and realistic manner that is conducive to all concerned. Be capable of making the tough choices and unpopular decisions required to promote best practices for the office and fairness for the public we serve. Be fair in treatment to all.

What makes you the best choice for this office?

Over the past four years, I have had to implement new methods and practices that enhanced accountability, performance and best practices. I have set the bar high with expectations for myself and my staff. I know and understand my responsibilities to the public I serve. I will continue to work diligently for fair and equitable values, remain fiscally responsible and continue to rebuild trust and respect in this office for the people of Adams County.

What will your top priority be, if elected?

Implement new Mobile App. technology to our existing software that will enhance productivity and accuracy in valuing, measuring and imputing data from on-site properties. Continue specialized team building within the appraisal department that allows appraisers to excel in their areas of expertise. As I've done for the past two years, I plan to continue aggressively pursuing opportunities to make public presentations promoting awareness of the functions of the Assessor's office, and answer all questions.

What else should voters know about you?

I have fulfilled every promise that I made four years ago. I take my position and my responsibility to the people of this county very seriously. I am in the office daily and always available to the public. I am committed to the excellence that I feel this office is capable of. I do not back down in the face of adversity and work hard to meet the challenges that are presented to this office.
